The Department for the European Union monitors and coordinates the process of European integration

The EU Department is responsible for:

• Coordination and management of the European integration process in the area of ​​Chapter 27 - Environment and climate change within cluster 4 - Green Agenda and sustainable connectivity. 
• Coordination and participation in the process of harmonizing national legislation with European legislation, building the necessary institutional and administrative capacities   and fulfilling the priorities and criteria for the integration of the Republic of North Macedonia into the EU in the field of environment and climate change,

• Coordinates and participates in the implementation of the activities for Chapter 27 – environment and climate change that refer to the preparation of progress reports in the European integration process in the area of ​​Chapter 27, as well as other documents resulting from the process of accession negotiations to the EU,
• Monitors and analyzes the negotiation process and provides support in the negotiation process for RSM membership in the EU in the area of ​​environment and climate change, 
• Develops and undertakes activities related to environmental standards, criteria for ecological labeling of products and services, as well as activities for the establishment of the environmental management scheme and its revision.
