Minister Shukova visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kocani, which is a success story of good and sustainable functioning of an infrastructural facility in which European positive experiences and advanced technologies are applied.
Not only is the waste water from the settlement treated and the waters of the Bregalnica river basin are protected, but also the self-sustainability of the treatment plant is ensured, through its own production of electricity with photovoltaics, and processing of sludge into compost is carried out, which will soon be packaged and available to farmers.
From the Wastewater Treatment Plant inform that in the first two years, the compost will be exchanged with the farmers for straw, which solves another important segment for environmental protection – stubble burning.
