Fourth meeting of the Joint Steering Committee for the Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development of North Macedonia and the UN

At the 4th meeting of the Joint Steering Committee for the Implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for the period 2021-2025, the results of the implementation of the Framework in 2023 were presented, along with the joint work plan for 2024, and discussed the next steps for the preparation of the new Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development 2026-2030.

1 Четврт состанок на Заедничкиот управен комитет за Рамка за соработка за одржлив развој на Северна Македонија и ООНThe Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Hristina Odzaklieska, emphasized that building climate-resistant communities by ensuring growth and development with low carbon emissions should be a priority of global policy and that it is expected in the next period, the contribution of UN bodies in the direction of protecting the media in the area of a healthy environment.

- It will be realized through policy support, capacity building and community activities for development with low emissions and multi-sectoral resilience to climate change, sustainable and inclusive management of natural resources, prevention and response to air pollution threats, effective risk reduction from disasters, reduction and efficient management of waste and reduction of the impact of unsustainable agricultural practices on catchment areas, Odzaklieska emphasized in her speech.

At the meeting, the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of North Macedonia, Rossana Dudziak, gave an opening address.
