Meeting of Shukova – Pamer: Cooperation in the environment and climate change continues

Today, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova, had a meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Austria in the country, Martin Pammer.

1Minister Shukova wished Pammer a welcome and success in the performance of his duties and expressed gratitude for the support our country receives from Austria in the reform processes related to European integration, especially referring to the negotiation process for Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change.

The meeting also discussed the current projects where the Environment Agency Austria appears as the implementing agency, and a special emphasis was placed on the waste management programs, and the possibilities for the participation of Austrian companies in their implementation, given that the private sector can be a relevant partner in key changes for the sustainability of environmental protection policies and standards.

2Minister Shukova presented the plans of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia to achieve the targets established by the European Green Agenda, noting that it is necessary to join all relevant sectors in achieving a greener future.

3Ambassador Pammer expresses his willingness to promote cooperation with the MOEPP and the will to implement joint projects that will achieve European standards for environmental protection and climate change.
