Based on Article 4 of the Decree on Public Participation in the Development of Regulations and Other Acts, as well as plans and programs in the environmental field, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning has started a procedure for the adoption of a Draft-Law on the Proclamation of Lake Ohrid as a Monument of Nature.
The adoption of the Law resulted from the need to declare Lake Ohrid again a protected area in the category “Monument of Nature”- category III, in accordance with the Law on Nature Protection of North Macedonia, as well as because of its unique world natural and cultural values as well as the geomorphological and the hydrological characteristics.
The Draft-Law on the Proclamation of Lake Ohrid as a Monument of Nature will soon be published on the portal at www.ener.gov.mk.
The public will be promptly informed about the date of the public debate.
