Positive experiences from the Scottish Government

At today’s meeting of the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova, and representatives from the Scottish Government, the National Development Strategy and its connection with spatial planning and regional development were discussed.

1.2Experts from the Scottish Government shared their positive experiences and examples in the development of the National Spatial Planning Framework for Scotland, which covers the problems, opportunities, and benefits for the whole country. They indicated the need for the participation of all stakeholders in the process of developing the strategy, taking into account equality and opportunity for all, as well as the realization of long-term interests, vision, and goals.

Minister Shukova emphasized the need for a participatory approach of all stakeholders during the process of drafting the National Development Strategy and its connection with spatial planning.

Scotland’s National Spatial Planning Framework is up to 2045y, a major responsibility for future generations and Scotland’s vision to create a better place to live for all.
