Today, at the meeting of Minister Shukova with the Director of the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism, Ljupco Janevski, the topic of conversation was the question of the great potential that our country abounds with for the development of eco-tourism, as a concept of tourism with which in a sustainable way the natural values will be used in the function of rest and recreation.
The increased percentage of protected areas is a good basis for such development and the necessary infrastructures were proposed to accelerate such development. Mountaineering, walking and cycling paths were mentioned, and solving the uncontrolled disposal of waste and the ugly image it leaves in the environment was pointed out as a problem that must be overcome once and for all if we want to be an attractive tourist destination.
