The International Solar Alliance mobilizes investment in solar energy globally

Today, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova, had a meeting with the Ambassador of India, H.E. Sanjay Rana.

Sredba_Shukova_Ambasador_IndijaAt the meeting, Ambassador Rana conveyed the invitation of the Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change of India, Bhupender Yadav to Minister Shukova to participate in an online meeting of environment ministers within the framework of the Voice of the Global South Summit, which will be held in November this year.

At this Summit, the conclusions of the G20 Summit, which has already been held in September of this year New Delhi, India, will be presented, which relate to the area of environment and climate change.

Sredba_Shukova_Ambasador_Indija_1They also discussed the possibilities of our country’s accession to the International Solar Alliance, the basis of which is the Paris Declaration for the International Solar Alliance adopted in November 2015 at the UNFCCC COP 21. 94 countries are members of this alliance, including EU countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, and is in partnership with international organizations such as the European Investment Bank, UNEP, UNIDO and others.

Sredba_Shukova_Ambasador_Indija_2It is headquartered in India and the Government of India has so far contributed with 28 million dollars in infrastructure and core corpus to the organization. The primary goal of this collaborative platform is to mobilize over 1 trillion dollars from the US Government for solar investments by 2030.
