The Green Agenda for the Western Balkans-new opportunity to invest in sustainable development

Sredba_Nuredini_Genoveva Ruiz KalaveraThe Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Naser Nuredini today had a meeting with the Director in charge of the Western Balkans of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Genoveva Ruiz Calavera. The meeting was also attended by Nikola Bertolini, Head of the Cooperation Sector in the EU Delegation, and Ambassador Agneza Rusi Popovska, Head of Mission of the Republic of Northern Macedonia to the EU.

Director Calavera expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Republic of Northern Macedonia and hope that the negotiation process for our country will be opened soon. In doing so, she hopes for good cooperation with the MOEPP and other institutions in implementing the EU Green Agenda in the region.

Minister Nuredini informed about the status of implementation of the IPA 2 Program, they also discussed how to accelerate the implementation process and the degree of utilization of IPA funds in the environment, especially on large infrastructure projects. In this regard, Bertolini reaffirmed the readiness of the EU as the largest donor in the Republic of Northern Macedonia, to support and assist in improving national capacities for access to European funds.

The importance was emphasized in the programming process of the IPA 3 Program to propose mature projects that will be able to start the implementation immediately after the opening of the Program.
